Chef Michel Marcais has traveled around the world delighting people with his culinary skills. He has held positions in his native France along the French Riviera, Switzerland, Portugal, Mexico, Costa Rica, and of course the United States. Some of the famous establishments he has served include the Ritz in Lisbon, Portugal, the Fairmont in Atlanta, Georgia, Pebble Beach Country Club as a Chef to Hollywood stars, and the Royal Sonesta in New Orleans, Louisiana. Michel has cooked for three presidents (Ford, Reagan, and Bush). During his tenure at the Royal Sonesta in New Orleans, he earned the title of Louisiana Chef of the Year.

Isabel and Chef Michel met and were married in Isabel's native homeland of Portugal. Isabel is the person responsible for the design and true elegance of Michabelle. She has reupholstered almost all of the furniture collected over the last 10 years herself. She has also designed and sewed all the draperies, window treatments, and tablecloths.
